The season for making apple pies is approaching, and in order to prepare those piping hot delicacies, you need to know how to bake apples. After you have done it once, it will come naturally. But, to get the true swing of it start off on the right foot by doing it correctly from start to finish.
Begin by peeling the outer skin with either a bonafide apple peeler, or a short sharp knife. Then move on to removing the core with either a tool made specifically for coring, or the same knife as you used to peel the apple. From this point on is up to you, if you are in fact making an apple pie you will want to cut the apples into slices, but otherwise you can simply cut the apples in halves and bake.
To get the juiciest baked apples, cover them with a harmonious jam or preserve for around forty minutes at three hundred and fifty degrees. From time to time, scoop the liquid that has accumulated in the dish up and pour directly back onto the apples. After removing them from the oven, allow them to cool. Then use them as the base with ice cream or custard.
